Crystal Morales, MedStar Health Director of Nursing Wellness, introduces Stress First Aid in the latest episode Scrub In podcast. Stress First Aid is a peer-to-peer program that recognizes and addresses stress. Initially developed for the military, it has now been adapted for healthcare settings to help clinicians. In this 16-minute episode, hear MedStar Health psychologist Heather Hartman-Hall, Ph.D., explain the program and explore ways it can be used by those who work in healthcare. Both Morales and Hartman-Hall are part of the MedStar Health Wellbeing team, which brings resources as well as peer and professional support to associates in need.
MedStar Health associates in the four Baltimore-area hospitals have a new resource when they need to talk to someone: Regional Resilience Coach Danni Davis, LCSW-C, C-CSOTS. Davis, who has a master’s degree in social work and is a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical, Instinctual Trauma Response Certified Instructor and Level III Therapist, comes to MedStar Health with a significant background in providing mental health and wellness support for first responders and their families. Davis has 23 years of experience working for Baltimore County social services and is one of the first coaches hired under MedStar Health's expanded wellbeing effort.
