MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital is a 93-bed full-service facility delivering emergency, acute inpatient, and outpatient care. Founded in 1912, our not-for-profit hospital has a long tradition of delivering quality care in the waterside community of Leonardtown, Maryland. Specialties and expanded services include bariatrics, cancer care, imaging, orthopedics, vascular surgery, neurology, oncology, women’s care, and breast health, among others. With innovative technology and a dedication to excellence, our staff is committed to providing you and your family quality care with a compassionate touch.

for nursing students

Recognizing the critical need for specially trained associates, MedStar St. Mary’s Hospital has designed a scholarship program for local students seeking a degree, license, or certification that is essential to the care of our patients. The hospital also funds scholarships for registered nurses who wish to complete their bachelor's degrees in nursing.

In Spring 2020, we received our fourth consecutive “A” for patient safety in The Leapfrog Group’s Hospital Safety Grade—biannual assessment measuring preventable errors, accidents, injuries, and infections in hospitals.
